I Put Million Dollars On My Vision Board! It Happened!
When was the last time you had the courage to dream?
Not just go to sleep and see what happens, but to really open up your mind and see what your dream life would be like if you had no limitations?
I don’t know about you, but for me, it wasn’t so easy to do as an adult at first. You know, it can be easier to think of what you can’t do or have, than focusing on what you want. A vision board really helps!
That’s why you need to focus your attention on:
- allowing yourself to let go of thoughts of lack
- allow thoughts of abundance and prosperity to enter your mind.
Here’s a simple exercise you can do. If the weather is such that you can comfortably do so, go outside and lay back with your face to the sky. Watch the clouds and, like a child would, imagine the shapes you see are familiar things or people. Or, you can even create your own, with your imagination. Since the sky always changes, you can let your mind move freely from one thing to another without anyone (including yourself), criticizing what you see or imagine.
This process of letting your mind go anywhere is a start, a way for you to practice thinking without judging where your thoughts go.
Sometimes it takes meditation or a deep sleep to calm your mind and clear the chatter of what some call the Monkey Mind. There’s nothing like finding a way to break free of the voices in your head for long enough to get out a pen or a pencil and begin writing down your wildest dreams.
Write as fast as you can for 10 minutes, holding nothing back. If your mind is still brimming and flowing, keep going until you run out of ideas.
After this exercise, you should have enough material to start a vision board.
Your vision board is a place to put all of your dreams, and those dreams should not be tempered or blocked in any way. Remember that it is about your vision, and it belongs to no one else. Your vision board can be placed in as private or public a place as you choose, it is not necessary for anyone but you to see it.
What is necessary is to have things on your vision board that truly excite you. The object is to stir your emotions after all. That’s how you will get the most out of your board – make it mean something to you. In this way, you will have something you will look at every day, rather than having nothing but forgotten dreams.
Remember, this is about you, not about anyone else.
